The New Cayuga County Speedway Is Now Closed; A Statement From AJ Kingsley

WEEDSPORT, NY - (July 18, 2011) The following is a statement from AJ Kingsley.

We at the speedway regret to inform everyone that The New Cayuga County Speedway is closed. Due to the poor car counts in the sportsman class we made a decision for the better of the speedway and the competition. With the idea to allow aluminum wheels and American Racers our car count DOUBLED, but received a phone call saying "go back to Hoosiers, drop the sportsman, or close the gate" at a track with a dying car Count

We made the decision that would and ultimately will save racing in this area. But instead because of personal issues between WRG and American Racer we were given the ultimatum. Funny thing. No one complained before that the DIRTcar Stock Cars run American Racers weekly at most tracks they compete. Nothing further at this moment. Stay tuned to Dougs Dirt Diary for more information and more of the story from Eric Kingsley tomorrow morning Tuesday July 19th.
