Rolling Wheels Raceway Rekindles Super DIRTcar Series Tradition In 2010
A holiday tradition that began four decades ago will be restored when
With the Fourth of July tour stop in Central New York last made in 2007, the return trip to the ‘Fast Track’ is expected to attract an elite array of past race winners along with a blend of young and talented Big-Block Modified racers, each looking to etch their own name in the Rolling Wheels record book.
“We’re well underway with plans to make Rolling Wheels a show place for all of our core divisions, a direct response to all the feedback we’ve received,” stated DIRTcar Northeast Director Cory Reed, who was recently named General Manager at the popular
“Rolling Wheels has always been one of the premier facilities on the DIRTcar circuit and the July 4th show among the staples throughout the summer. We’ll be taking full advantage of our specials-only format next season with an even bigger variety of classes in competition and more dates to appease both the fans and racers,” noted Reed, who has already inked a return visit by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series (Aug. 19) and WoO Sprint Car Series (Oc. 9) as part of the Super DIRT Week festivities.
Situated right in the backyard of DIRTcar Northeast headquarters, Rolling Wheels remains a hotbed for Modified racing with its central location providing easy access from every direction. Traveling in from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Canada, open-wheel stars have made their way down Route 5 for the past 40 years, with previous winners of the headline 'Firecracker 100’ some of the biggest names in DIRTcar Racing today.
