WEEDSPORT, NY_ The first of sixteen scheduled "Dig Safely Bonus Bucks" events takes place this Sunday night (May 2nd) when Rolling Wheels Raceway opens it's 2010 season with the annual DIRTcar Challenge Cup.

Dig Safely New York Motorsports Program Coordinator Larry Bishop and Motorsports Safety Systems owner Dennis Botindari have teamed up to provide a $500 gift certificate from MSS to a lucky driver for each night Dig Safely New York has a "Bonus Bucks" event.

Rolling Wheels Raceway will have an additional Dig Safely New York Bonus Bucks event on Sunday, July 4th when the Modified Super DIRTcar Series makes it's only 2010 appearance at the "fast track" for the "Stars and Stripes 100."

"Dig Safely New York is really looking forward to our first Bonus Bucks event this Sunday at Rolling Wheels Raceway," says Bishop, who will have ten Bonus Bucks shows at DIRTcar Northeast tracks Rolling Wheels Raceway, Cayuga County Fair Speedway and Canandaigua Speedway for the 2010 season. Other DIRTcar Northeast sanctioned tracks Brewerton Speedway and Fulton Speedway will split six events.

The award will be given to a driver who finishes in the top ten of the DIRTcar Modified main event. Fan participation will also be involved as a lucky individual will draw the winning participant's number before the feature event. In addition to that, the fan will get PA recognition and join a Dig Safely New York representative in victory lane to award the prize.

"It's a new concept to what we've done in the past but we feel that giving a driver who doesn't have to be the winner of the event a chance for some extra money to help with their respective programs is positive", adds Bishop."

Rolling Wheels Raceway General Manager Cory Reed is also enthused about the new program.

"We look forward to the kick-off of the Dig Safely New York Bonus Bucks program. It will add good exposure for Dig Safely New York and also provide a lucky driver a great bonus."

To be eligible, all drivers must have a 5" x 7" inch contingency sticker on both sides of the race car.

Dig Safely New York specializes in knowing what's below the ground when you need to do some digging or excavation from home or on the job, so "Call 811 Before You Dig."

The DIRTcar Challenge Cup will get underway this Sunday at 5pm. Pit gates will open at 2pm while the grandstands will open at 3pm. Adult admission is $18. Senior Citizens $16. Students 10-18 and Active Military is $8. Children 9 and under is free. The Family Four Pack will be $50.
