FRANKLIN, PA.While the mercury in the thermometer still says that it is pretty cool outside things at H&H Motorsports Tri-City are getting HOT!! Special events, Friday Night Lightning regular shows, and special appearances are locked in for the 2011 racing season at the fast half mile in Venango County.
Tri-City will kick off the 2011 season with their season opener on Friday April, 29 featuring the new line-up of Friday Night Lightning. Our weekly program will see a change at the top of the heap as the Super Late Models are back racing for a cool $1,500 every week sponsored by 4 Your Car Connection. New promoter Tim Engles says "the response from the late model guys is very positive and I look for a good car count every week." Joining them weekly will be the Weld Tech/Shaw Industries FASTRAK Late Models, M&D Paving E-Mods, TEMPSTAR Northwestern Heating Sales and Service Open Pro-Stocks, and the return of the R.K. Virgile Scrap Metals Thunder Cars.
While our line-up Friday Night Lightning will take center stage, there will be many special events joining them thought the year. The first special event will come on Friday May 20th when H&H Motorsports Tri-City Speedway will partner with the American Cancer Society to present the George Stroupe Memorial to raise cancer awareness. This night will see the stars of Tri-City taking off their tops and showing it all as they race around the Venango County Oval without their roofs!
One of the new concepts brought on by the new management team is the introduction of our "Double Down Weekends". The first of these will take place over the Memorial Day weekend (May 27-29). On Friday Night drivers will be racing doubly hard to get the double points awarded that evening. Also that night Ultra Graph X is sponsoring a party with a bend to be announced later after the races. Then on Sunday May 29th the Super Sprints will make a return racing for a top prize of $3,000 and $1,000 for 5th and $250 to start. With them will be the return of the awesome ground pounders with BRP Modified Tour Kodiak Memorial presented by Atkinson Fire Safety. The mighty modifieds will go 35 laps with the winner getting $2,000 and 1,000 for 3rd. Promoter Tim Engles said "with a pay-outs/purse this high there should be some heavy hitters invading the area."
June then storms in with a heavy dose of lightning and some thunder on the track. Back by popular demand will be the Fan Appreciation Night on June 24th with only $5 general admission. This will be followed by another "Double Down Weekend" on July 1-3. Friday night will feature the ULMS Super Late Models in the Firecracker Mini Series Race #2 racing for an explosive $2,000 to win. Then on Sunday July 3 Sanford Co./Larry Horn/ & Horn's Collision and Repair will present the O'Reilly Midwest All Star Circuit of Champion Sprints racing for $3,000 to win along with the BRP Modified Tour racing for $2,000 to win.
September will mark the return of the World of Outlaw Late Models. The highly anticipated 2011 Oil Region Labor Day Classic Weekend presented by Big Dog RC Indoor Racing and Hobby Shop on September 3 & 4. Some of the nation's top late models will descend upon Tri-City Speedway to race for the big prize of $10,000 each night. Joining the Outlaws will be the very impressive line-up of drivers for the Sweeney Chevrolet FASTRAK Northeast Touring Late Models racing a $1,200 to win 25 lap feature event on September 3 and $1,000 to win event on September 4. Also on the card will be the UEMS E-Mod Series racing for $1,200 and $1,500 to win on Saturday and Sunday respectfully.
Finally capping off the 2011 campaign will be the return of the CS Technologies Plus Applefest 120 on Sunday, September 11. This event will feature the Open Pro-Stocks and UEMS E-Mods racing 50 Laps for $2,000 to win each with Lap Money and Dash money making it one of the richest paying pro-stock race in the area! Joining them will be the Thunder Cars racing for a season high $300 to win 20 lap event.

We have been working very hard this off season to make this year a great one for the drivers and fans of Tri-City Speedway."
Tri-City Speedway is owned and operated by H&H Motorsports, which has promoted racing at the popular facility since in 2009. In 2011, Tri-City will host Friday night competition featuring the Super Late Models, FASTRAK Late Models, E- Mods, Open Pro Stocks and Thunder Cars at the Venango County half-mile dirt oval. Tri-City is located seven miles north of Franklin, Pa., off State Route 417.
