SNYDERSVILLE RACEWAY ALMOST BEATS MOTHER NATURE

 

 With the weather forecasters proclaiming most of the week that Friday would be a washout, Snydersville Raceway stuck to their game plan and opened their gates as scheduled. Although quite cloudy & gloomy, the competitors strapped in for a great night of racing on the tight Monroe County Oval.

 

  On a night when all drivers received Double Points towards their division championships, heat races were run off in a timely fashion without any major incidents on the raceway although a few sprinkles slowed the activities a bit.

 

   After a short intermission for track preparation, feature lineups were given and the competitors rolled their mounts into the staging area. First to hit the Raceway was the Jr. Slingshot division. Clark Summit Pa’s Molly Chambers scored her first checkered of the season in her family owned #51B.

 

   Young Chris”Midget” Kurtz picked up a win the Non Restricted Kid Karts while Troy Snyder picked up the hardware in the Jr. Sportsman 1 class. Other Brigg’s Division winners were Pat Koller, Scott Singley, Trey Deichman, Cody Kline, John Wolfe, and Art Cronce Sr.

 

   Champ Car Features went to Buddy Lord, Danielle Keller and Jessie Benke, who made it two in a row in the Jr. Champ Division. Russell Benke once again topped the Microstock Jr. Sportsman class as Walt Morrison and Harry Ladlee Sr. copped the Microstock Modified and Controlled classes. Sr. Sportsman was won by newcomer Samantha Rundle.

 

    The Wildman, Dale Kuhne flew to win #2 in the Open Modified Kart class while 3rd Generation and Rising Star Mike Butler topped the Sr. Slingshot division. Three features remained on the schedule when Mother Nature showered the Raceway for the final time. All 3 races will be run at the beginning of the Raceway’s April 18th racing program which will be highlighted with a 25 Lap Feature for the Jr. Slingshot Division.

 

  Friday April 25th will be Rodota Trucking and Excavating Night at Snydersville. Rodota, Located in Belvidere, NJ,  is operated by veteran racer Bob Hummer and is the major sponsor of the Hummer Motorsports Team which consists of Bob,his son Chris, plus veteran racers Dan Miller and Harold Fisher. The full card of racing will feature 25 lap main events for the Kid Kart Divisions. As Always, Gates will open at 4pm. with the weekly Snydersville Drivers Meeting at 6:45 pm. Racing will start promptly at 7 pm.
