By Steve Pados, GA Motorsports Media
The Gasoline Alley Group and the Reading Fairgrounds Racing Historical Society have once again joined forces to offer a special awards package to winners of the events that will take place at the 8th Annual Reading Fairgrounds Nostalgia Nationals events scheduled for the 6th and 7th of August. While the final details of the awards package program are still being worked out, the Gasoline Alley Group is happy to once again play a role in the success of the annual event. The Gasoline Alley TV/Internet Show was the premier racing show on the airwaves until November 2011 when the Pados Brothers opted to step away from the show that began in 2002 and they hosted 546 shows in their tenure on the airwaves through the WALN and Service Electric Networks and two radio networks prior to that. The successful show and through the many events in which the Pados Brothers presided over have seen them interviewing more than eight thousand personalities in racing across the country and Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Last year more than 35 interviews were carried out on the Reading Fairgrounds with both the Junior and All Star Slingshot drivers taking part in the show. While it remains undecided at this time if the show will return to the airwaves, the support mechanism to assist in various events along the way still remains a strong focal point for the Pados Brothers who have spent more than sixty years in racing. They recently supported the very successful St Jude Children's Research Hospital Firecracker 100 at Hamlin Speedway through donations and the handling of the Media for the event.
The Gasoline Alley Group through the solid efforts of Ed Pados, has put together a solid community network of friends and sponsors who will lend their assistance to this annual event. A.R.M. Automotive, Gardner Auto Service/Gary Gardner, Huston's Automotive/Danny Huston, Lane's Auto Repair, Mammana's Automotive/Pat & Mike Mammana, Martocci Automotive/Tommy Martocci, Tony's Auto Repair, Bok Engine Service/Randy Bok, Murante Auto Repair, Paul's Auto Body/Paul Fuchs, Joe's Garage, R&F International Muffler, Reagle Dodge, Ralph's Radiator, Persa's Auto Repair, Gary and Donna Palmer at Accord Speedway, Bob and Donna Miller/Thunder on the Hill Series, Mo Pagni's Outten Used Cars, Carl's Auto Repair, Dotta Chrysler and Jeep, GA Motorsports Media and The Gasoline Alley Group will all lend their full support to the RFRHS for this event with more expected before the racing goes green at the revamped Fairgrounds facility. The monies raised will be split up among both the Junior and the All Star Slingshot Divisions who will be in competition for the two-day show. In touching base with Ed Pados in regards to the upcoming event, he remarked, "My brother Steve and I have always enjoyed a great relationship with the RFRHS group, and we have always been able to pull together some solid support for the event from friends in racing and will continue to do so in the future. Many of the Slingshot driving stars of today and many that have moved on to other divisions in racing have interviewed on the show in the past and we are extremely proud of our accomplishments with being able to match up and coming Slingshot drivers with some of the top Modified and Open Wheel drivers in the country to produce a show that was always full of great interviews and tons of fun to host". Pados later added, "Many of the Slingshot stars of today gave their first ever interview on our show and my brother Steve always did an amazing job in teaching and coaching them the correct aspects of the interview process and all of them have thanked us for assisting them in their budding racing careers". Ed and Steve Pados have been honored with lifetime memberships to the RFRHS and it is through that wonderful kinship will continue to assist their dear friends at the RFRHS.
