No Bull 25 win to Bruce Buckwalter;  Perchak and Kunsman take Micro Sprint Wins

In the first race of the season for the ARDC Midgets and Linda’s Speedway it looked like Bruce Buckwalter would be the winner of the Gorundbreaker 25 before his car slowed to the pit area. Danny Stratton went onto win. Friday in the ARDC Midget No Bull 25, run in honor of Living Legend Ray Bull, Buckwalter would get redemption when Stratton’ car ironically slowed. Brett Wanner was the early race leader before Brett Arndt made the pass for the lead on lap seven. Arndt looked strong and showed the way until lap 14 when he got into the turn three wall giving the lead to runner up Stratton. The record books will never show Stratton as the race leader because on the restart his car never took off and Buckwalter shot into the top spot. Buckwalter went the rest of the way unchallenged on his way to his first career Linda’s Speedway win. Travor Kobylarz finished in second for the second time this season at the track. Alex Bright came back from a mid race yellow flag to finish in the third spot and round out the podium. ARDC point leader Steve Drevicki and Nick Wean rounded out the top five finishers. Ryan Greth was the hard charger worth $100 from the Bull Family. Greth started 20th and finished seventh. Heat races were won by Brett Arndt, Brett Wanner, and Shawn Jackson.

Ross Perchak has had success on the 4th of July weekend before at Linda’s Speedway, but Friday night in the RTS Chassis sponsored 270 Micro Sprint feature event Perchak earned a hard fought win. Liquid Nitro Quick Timer Devin Harron, Jesse Maurer, and Mike Rutherford all took shots at Perchak’s race lead all the way up to the checkered flag. Perchak’s win is the 31st of his career at Linda’s Speedway. Rutherford came across second with Harron, Maurer, and Josh Stoyer rounding out the top five. Brandon Edgar was the Amy Williams Photo hard charging going from 17th to sixth. Brian Sholley, Mike Boyer, Scott Gingrich, and Brent Shearer rounded out the top ten finishers from the feature event. Heat race winners were Josh Stoyer, Jesse Maurer, Scott Gingrich, and Dave Williams while Collin Ginther and Brandon Edgar won consolation races for the 33 car field.

Tommy Kunsman opened the Tri-Track Challenge with a win in the Hoosier Tire Wingless 600 Micro Sprint feature Friday just before rain started to fall. Kunsman ran double duty in both a 600 Micro Sprint and an ARDC Midget. After his Midget broke Kunsman was ready to rebound in the 600’s. Kunsman used his second starting spot to get in front of pole setter Brian Carber at the drop of the green. Carber stayed right in the tire tracks of the race leader the whole night, but had to settle for second. PJ Williams rounded out the podium finishers. Jason Swavely (Hard Charger) came from 15th starting spot to make a late race of Kyle Lick for fourth. Lick settled in for fifth. Mike Rutherford, Colin White, Jacob Severn, Grady Johnson, and Steve Whary rounded out the top ten finishers. Heat race wins went to Kunsman, Williams, Rutherford, Austin Bishop, and Matt Carr. Skylar Sheriff won the C Main with James Morris winning the B Main. 47 Cars signed in for the first night of the Tri-Track Challenge and will return Saturday at Lanco’s Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway and end on Wednesday at the Action Track USA.

Jerry Seabridge and Skylar Sheriff receive Free Car Entry giveaways and Mike Rutherford and Tommy Kunsman receive a bonus as heat winners from behind the front row.
