SHANGHAI, China --  Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton

took advantage of Nico Rosberg's lap 20 spin and tire woes

here at the Shanghai International Circuit to fisnish one-two

in the FIA F1 GP of China Sunday afternoon.

Rosberg took advantage of race stewards calling in original

leader Fernando Alonso on lap five to take the lead. The

Mercedes factory driver was finding his intermediate tires

wearing too fast on the rapidly drying 3.38-mile, 16-turn

road course, however, and spun after building a four second

lead on Button.

Hamilton eventually passed Rosberg and closed to

within 1.5 seconds on teammate Button after 56 laps. The

reigning and 2008 F1 World Driving Champions, in their first

one-two of the season, vaulted their Vodafone/Mobil 1

McLaren-Mercedes MP4-25s ahead of the Ferrari F10s in

the manufacturer points standings. Button, who won the

Australian GP last month, and Rosberg also demoted twice

WDC titlist Alonso to third in the drivers points.

Rosberg salvaged third, 9.4 sec. behind. Alonso, who was

assessed a stop-and-go penality for supposedly jumping the

initial start, brought his Ferrari home fourth. Robert Kubica

rounded out the top five of 17 finishers.

Poleman Vettel and his Red Bull Racing-Renault finished

sixth. Vitaly Petrov, aboard a Lada-sponsored Renault,

finished seventh to accrue first points by a Russian driver.

Mark Webber (RBR-Renault), Felipe Massa (Ferrari) and

Michael Schumacher (Mercedes) rounded out the points-

earning finishers.
