Insinger Performance Night
Legends of Woodhull Reunion
BUONO AND MORSEMAN RACING FAMILES
DOMINATE ON INSINGER PERFORMANCE NIGHT!!
By Paul Harkenrider
(WOODHULL, NY)… Insiginer Performance night was a night for two premier racing families up on the high banks.
Leading the way for the NAPA Crate Sportsman was the son of the Buono Racing family team, Brett Buono who led all 25 laps, but it was no easy task. Brett had one particular driver riding his back bumper for the last 5 or so laps, his dad Bob Buono. The first caution of the race came out on lap 23 which left a 2 lap shootout for the father-son racing crew. Once the green flag dropped for the last time, both Buono’s were wheel to wheel but coming out of corner number 4 on the outside was the second generation star in Brett Buono picking up his second feature of the year. Bob Buono had to finish in second, followed by Josh Keesey in position 3, current point leader Chris Daugherty finished in 4th and Steve Hartman Sr. rounded out the top 5. In the first ever King of the Ring for the NAPA Crate Sportsman, it was Russ Morseman picking up the challenging one on one event. Ray Bliss Jr finished in second. Winnings were donated by an anonymous fan.
In the LaBarron Brothers Front Wheel Drives, picking up his first ever feature up on the high banks was Ryan Austin. Austin also picked up a heat win as well as the front wheel drives ran second in the race order. Billy Joe Birdsall returned and finished in second followed by Carl LeBarron, Jay McConnell, and Matt Prescott. Danny Mitchell picked up the other heat win.
In the Signs Plus Mini Stock Class Brandon Morseman was victorious once again picking up yet another feature as he is running away with the points leads over Jason Gleason who finished in second. Brian Grant Sr finished in third followed by Chad Ayers and Chris Hand.
Continuing his hot streak in the S&W Awards and Photos 360 late models was Bruce Miller picking up his third feature of the year. Lap traffic came in Millers favor as he was able to get around John Waters who finished in second. Glen Writenour 3rd place finish keeps him ahead of Waters by just one point. Jaye McConnell who started on the pole finished in a solid fourth place spot, Fred Amann rounded out the top 5.
Picking up his second feature of the 2013 season in the Insinger Performance 370 Modified Division was Eric Fisher. Fisher led all 25 laps in a very strong competitive field as almost all 24 cars stayed on the lead lap for a majority of the race. Five Mile Point regular Brian Malcolm came in a solid second place spot as he tunes his car for the big September events. Grant Hilfiger finished in 3rd followed by Mike Bills, and then Bryan Worthing rounded out the top 5.
In the Joe Willcox Performance Street Stocks, it was Jeremy Potrzebowski picking up his 3rd feature of the year. This was Potrzebowski first appearance since early July as he said he is focusing on winning a track championship at Black Rock Speedway. Teddy Morseman finished in second followed by Cory Costa then Brett Marlatt. Points are now tied going into next week’s point finale between Teddy Morseman and Brett Marlatt.
August 31, 2013 is the points finale for all 6 regular classes, Presented by Kibbe Oil and Gas Services. Gates are open at 4:30 with racing at 6:30
