WOODHULL RACEWAY LOOSES SEPTEMBER 7, 2013 EVENT TO RAIN

(Woodhull, NY)  A persistent drizzle that began just as the gates opened at 3:30 pm for the Sept. 7 event at the Woodhull Raceway lingered for several hours forcing track officials to cancel the activity.

“We hung on as long as we could, stated Woodhull Raceway track owner, Ted White.  Radar looking like things would clear off so we could get the entire show into the books. We waited till approximately 7:30, it was still sprinkling thus we had no other choice than to pull the plug.  With make-up features on the schedule as well as a regular show, even if it quit raining we would have been all night and into the early morning hours trying to get the track ready and the show completed”.

This now sets up an even more aggressive schedule on Saturday, Sept. 21 as everything that was on the card for Sept. 7 will be made up including the 3 make-up features from the August 31 partial rainout.  In addition the NAPA Crate Sportsman Non-Feature Winners race along with the Joe Willcox Performance 50 lap, $750 to win feature will go on as originally scheduled.  Plus the BRP Can Am 360 LM Series will be back in action for the Isky Cams Championship as well as the Annual Lyle Sherwood Memorial Open BB/SB 35 lap, $1,700 to win Special.

Gates for the Sept. 21 show will open at 3:30 with racing at 5:30 pm.  Pit wrist bands and General Admission Rain Checks from the Sept. 7 rainout will be honored on Sept. 21.

Adult General Admission for the Sept. 21 event will be $15.00.
