CPS STORY

CLEARFIELD, PA – Mike Pegher, Jr. of Wexford made his first trip to Tim Bainey’s Central PA Speedway a winning one, as he picked up the win Sunday night in the Fastrak Late Models in the Father’s Day extravaganza sponsored by Dixon’s Contracting of West Decatur.
Robbie Blair of Hydetown topped the Super Late Models and Allen Dillenger of Hermitage copped the Street Stock Showdown, round two.
Jason DuPont outran Chris Clark to start the Super Late Model feature, and shot into a sizable lead that was abruptly erased when a caution flew on lap 22.
The restart allowed second place Robbie Blair to restart behind Dupont with Jared Miley third and Billy Dickson fourth. As the green waved, Blair dove under Dupont and took the lead, allowing Miley to attack Dupont.
On lap 27 Miley took second and began to close on Blair but the race ended just three laps later, with Blair in victory lane. Miley, Dupont, Boom Briggs and Tim Smith completed the top five. Heat wins went to Blair and Briggs.
Bud Watson and Robbie Blair, pulling double duties, left the Fastrak Late Models to the green with Blair taking the lead. He was fast out of the gate with Watson second and seventh place starter Mike Pegher Jr. headed to the front.
On the seventh lap a caution waved, tightening the field, with Pegher still second. On the restart Pegher found the right groove and went from third to the lead. Once he was out front, he never looked back, taking his first career win at The Big Track.
Blair held on for second with John Holtgraver, Watson and Gary Knollinger Jr. completing the top five. Heat wins went to Pegher, Blair and Bryan Force.
In Street Stock action the feature was once again the Allen Dillenger show, as he took the lead from Randy Wyant on lap two and was never challenged again. The racing was great, from second back, with Bill Henney of Huntingdon winning that battle. The top five were: Dillenger, Hennery, Tim Krape, Wyant and Joe Kott. Heat wins went to Kot, Dillenger and Krape.
BEAR TRACKS: 67 teams filled the pits, including 15 Super Late Models, 21 Fastrak Late Models and 31 Street Stocks…Fuzzy Fields was part of an opening lap crash in a Street Stock heat that sent him careening into the infield and into a push vehicle. No one was injured….The next CPS show is scheduled for July 2 and 3 as the All-Star Late Models return to be a part of the legendary Yankee Doodle 50. Details on the two-day extravaganza are at www.thebigtrack.com.
