Three Strikes, We’re Out, and Mother Nature Wins her Sixth at Roaring Knob
MARKLEYSBURG, PA (July 25) – Roaring Knob fought the battle Saturday but eventually lost the war as Mother Nature prevailed for the sixth time this season when three lengthy periods of rain brought what was shaping up to be an outstanding night of racing at the track to an early end.  The Dick Rugh’s Street Stock Special has been rescheduled for August 22 and will share the spotlight with the Fort Necessity Garage Chargers plus a regular program for the Commonwealth Marketing Group Super Late Models, Brooks Auto Group FASTRAK Late Models, and So. Fayette Nursing Center Modifieds will complete the evening’s racing card.
Up next on Saturday, August 1 the UFo Touring Super Late Models will appear at Roaring Knob for the first time in 2009.  The rescheduled “Mega-Blitz 2009” presented by Commonwealth Marketing Group will pay $3000 to the winner of the Mach 41-lap feature.  This event will also be the 3rd of the 3-race “King of the Knob” qualifier races, which will determine the track provisional for the UFo “King of the Knob=E 2 on September 12.  Beverly WV’s Chuck Harper is currently leading the point standings following the first two qualifier events with 107.  In second is Doug Horton with 106, followed by Tim Senic - 103, D.J. Troutman 96, Billy Holbert 92, Keith Barbara 78, LC Powers 76, Greg Gellner 64, Chad McClellan 62,  and Gary Dalton 60 to complete the top ten.  Twenty-three more racers have accumulated points in the first 2 events, and depending on the outcome of the Mach 41, anything could happen.  
Joining the UFo Super Late Models on August 1st (Glotfelty Tire Services Night) will be the FASTRAK Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Chargers.   Pit Gates op en at 4:30, grandstands at 5:00, warm-ups at 6:15 and racing begins at 7:00 PM. Grandstand admission is only $15, with children 10 & under free.     Payout for the UFo Super Late Models for the 41-lap "Mega-Blitz 2009" is 1st - $3,000 2nd -$1,400 3rd -$1,000 4th -$750 5th -$600 6th -$550 7th -$500 8th -$450 9th -$425 10th -$400 11th -$375 12th -$350 13th -$325 14th -$300 15th -$290 16th -$275 17th -$250 18th -$250 19th -$250 20th -$250 21st -$250 22nd -$250 23rd -$250 24th -$250. $100 tow money for any car that races and does not qualify for the feature.
