Hesston to kick off season Saturday
For immediate release                                April 17, 2010

HESSTON, PA - Hesston Speedway, under the ownership of David Eriksen and the  direction of Dustin Hertzler, will kick off the 2010 racing Season on Saturday night, April 24, with a five division card of limited late models, Fastrak Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks and Four Cylinder Mini Stocks at 7 p.m.
The race carries a Sunday evening rain date with racing at 6 p.m.               
Racing will occur on Saturday nights at 7 p.m. with the following divisions seeing acting at some point this season: Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, Super Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Sprints, Vintage Cars, 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks and 4 Cylinder Factory stocks.

Plus new this season Zerowraps.com and Force Paving have joined forces, along with Hesston and Dog Hollow Speedways to sponsor a point fund for the Fastrak Crate Late Models.
The point fund is also listed on the website.
Eriksen has been busy in the off season, hes renovated the speedway with new clay, hes changed the entrance and pits and hes renovated the tow trucks and water trucks, just to hit on some of the highlights from over the winter. Be sure to visit the speedway to check out the changes.
There will also be a Hesston Showdown Series, which was created in an effort to give the Limited Late Model drivers a chance to race for more money.  Management worked around other speedway schedules and tried to compile the best possible dates in which to run this series.
Each show is guaranteed to pay $1,000 with a total purse reaching $5,000.00. In addition to a fair but decent purse management is also are building a point fund in the amount of $5,000.
Normally drivers will find point funds being paid out to the top ten but not at Hesston, as Eriksen has decided to take a different approach. Hesston Speedway will payout the top 24 drivers in the series.
 The Winner will receive $1,0000 and the 24th place finisher will receive 100. The point fund money will be awarded at the completion of the final series race.
The four race schedule is as follows:
     Showdown Series Night # 1 Saturday May 8 @ 7PM
     Showdown Series Night # 2 Sunday July 4 @ 7PM 
     Showdown Series Night # 3 Saturday July 24 @ 7PM
     Showdown Series Night # 4 Sunday September 5 @ 7PM Final Showdown.
