Super DIRT Week Kickoff Party, Last Call at the Port Weekend conclude Weedsport Speedway season

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Sept. 9, 2015 – As race fans around the Northeast gear up for Super DIRT Week’s Finale at the Fairgrounds, Weedsport Speedway is once again preparing to host the kickoff party for central New York’s biggest week of dirt track racing.

The DIRTcar 358 Modified Series and the DIRTcar Sportsman Series take the stage Wednesday, Oct. 7 with pit gates opening at 4 p.m., grandstands opening at 5 p.m., hot laps starting at 6:30 p.m. and racing starting at 7:30 p.m. A capacity crowd is expected to watch the best in the business handle the three-eighths mile oval during Super DIRT Week’s opening festivities.

New this year, fans camping at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse can take advantage of bus transportation to and from Weedsport. Round-trip tickets cost $5 if purchased before Oct. 6 and $10 on Oct. 7. Reserved seating tickets are now on sale for $29, and general admission tickets cost $25. Seats are selling fast, so visit for more information.

Reserved camping sites are available at $25 per night, and each site includes electric and water hookups.

Two weeks after Super DIRT Week, the action returns to Weedsport for the inaugural Last Call at the Port Weekend Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24, as the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series and Upstate Sportsman Alliance Series both crown their champions after season-ending events. Racing starts at 7 p.m. Friday and at 6:00 p.m. Saturday.

Along with the $7,500-to-win, 125-lap 358 modified race, Friday’s action includes the Go Nuclear Late Model Series and a $3,500-to-win, 35-lap DIRTcar Big-Block Modified feature in which the winner is guaranteed the fifth-place starting position in Saturday’s Last Call 150. The big-block time trials will set the field for Saturday, as the top 24 drivers on Friday will be locked into the Last Call 150.

Saturday’s Last Call 150 will garnish a $20,000 payday to the winner, and the last-place finisher in the 36-car field will receive $500. Before that, the Upstate Sportsman Alliance Series drivers will race 40 laps to determine the series champion.

While the action on the track is sure to satisfy the need for speed, festivities for all ages will enhance the weekend excitement.  Friday night’s Portside Party presented by Bud Light will feature the music of Dirtroad Ruckus, and Saturday’s October Fan Fest will include food, music, a Super DIRTcar Series driver meet-and-greet and a Future Champions pit tour.

The Last Call at the Port rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25. With the event representing the last time the dirt will fly in central New York this year, it should be an unprecedented weekend. Visit for updates and ticket information.
