Kirkwood, New York…The popular American Racer Cup Champions Dash will be featured at the Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, New York this Saturday.  The once rained out Saturday portion of the American Racer Cup Weekend sponsored by Sunoco Race Fuels has been combined with the National Quarter Mile Championship coming up at Five Mile Point this weekend.


 Andrew Harpell, the promoter of Five Mile Point Speedway, has made some changes to his annual National Quarter Mile Championship Weekend. Added to the Quarter Mile Championship will be the American Racer Cup Modified Dash. Champions at all participating speedways will be eligible for the 15 lap dash paying $2,000 to win.  All drivers taking the green receiving a FREE American Racer Tire courtesy of Lias Tire. 


The American Racer Cup will officially crown its 2015 modified champion at Five Mile Point Saturday. Rick Laubach, representing Big Diamond Speedway, won the championship over one hundred other competitors competing in the program at ten different northeast speedways. Champions of those tracks eligible for the dash include Jeff Heotzler Sr from Accord Speedway, Jeff Struck from Grandview, Billy Van Pelt representing Woodhull, Penn Can Speedway champion, Kevin Hartnett, New Egypt’s Ryan Godown, Five Mile Point representative Shaun Walker, HJ Bunting from Delaware International, Jamie Mills from Bridgeport, and Brady Fultz from Black Rock Speedway. If a champion driver from a participating track is unable to attend the next driver in American Racer Cup Track standings will transfer to the dash.


The National Quarter Mile Championship Weekend at Five Mile Point will take place this weekend at Five Mile Point Speedway. This will be one of the final racing weekends of the 2015 season in the northeast and should attract a great field of cars looking at one more opportunity to visit Victory Lane. The action begins Friday with an exciting program of racing featuring the Race of Champions Sportsman competing in a forty lap feature paying $2555 to win. Also on the racing card are the CRSA sprint cars, IMCA modifieds, four cylinders and factory stocks.


Saturday’s racing card is another event filled day of racing action featuring the RoC Modifieds in a 65 lap feature paying $5555 to win. There will be the annual “trick or treat” for the young fans at intermission. The Grit Series Sportsman will be running heats and a twenty five lap feature. The street stocks have another big $1500 to win feature along with the Slingshots that round out the racing action. A post race bonfire is also planned after the racing.


On Friday gates open at 4:00 with racing at 6:45. Saturday pit gates will open at 2:00 with grandstands to follow at 3:00. Racing will begin at 4:15. For further information please phone:  (607) 775-5555 or log on to
