Dave Marcuccilli Crowned Inaugural FX Caprara Car Companies Upstate Sportsman Alliance Champion

BALDWINSVILLE, NY – November 4, 2015 – Last winter, Central New York track promoters Jimmy Phelps (Weedsport), Jeremie Corcoran (Canandaigua) and Bill and Kim Shea (Utica-Rome), in conjunction with Fulton and Brewerton track Marketing Director Cory Reed, with support from FX Caprara Car Companies, formed the FX Caprara Car Companies Upstate Sportsman Alliance (USA), a cooperative initiative designed to organize sportsman racing events within the region. 


After nearly 100 point paying races that saw 202 different competitors register at least a single point, it was Canandaigua Motorsports Park Sportsman Champion, Dave Marcucilli that came out on top of the heap. Marcucilli’s season performance was impressive. He tallied 846 of a possible 900 weekly points with 7 feature wins, 16 top-5 and 24 top-10 finishes in just 25 weekly racing starts. He then scored three Championship point event wins in eight starts pushing his season point total to 1535 to claim the crown ahead of runner-up Ron Davis III.

2) 32R – Ron Davis III – Memphis, NY – 1424 points - 5 top 5’s and 7 top 10’s in 8 series starts plus 4 weekly wins in 35 starts. Brewerton Speedway point runner-up.

3) 15 – Todd Root – Warners, NY – 1249 points - Brewerton & Fulton Speedway regular – 2 top 5’s and 6 top 10’s in 8 series starts plus 1 win in 21 weekly starts.

4) 1J – Rocky Warner – Gloversville, NY – 1238 points - Utica-Rome Track Champion - 2 Series wins – 3 top 5’s 4 top 10’s in 5 series starts plus 8 weekly wins in just 19 starts.

5) 80x – Mike Button – Chittenango, NY – 1158 points – 3 top ten finishes in eight starts and 3 weekly wins in 22 weekly starts. Fulton Speedway points runner-up.

6) 31 – Corey Barker – Fulton, NY – 1121 points - 1 top 5 and 1 top 10 in 8 series starts plus 4 weekly wins. Made an Upstate Sportsman Alliance high 46 weekly starts.

7)  0 – Tony Finch II – Pennellville, NY – 1091 points - Fulton Speedway Track Champion – 1 top 5 and 2 top 10’s in 5 series starts plus 5 weekly wins in 30 weekly starts.

8) 29K – Chris Cunningham – Kirkville, NY – 1079 points - 1 top 10 in 8 series starts – made 43 weekly event starts as a sportsman rookie.

9) 33x – Matt Janczuk – Oneida, NY – 1061 points - Utica-Rome Speedway - 3 top 5’s and 3 top 10s in 3 series starts plus 3 wins in 19 weekly starts.

10) 8 – Alan Fink – Central Square, NY – 1023 points - 1 top 10 in 8 series starts plus 1 weekly win in 32 weekly starts.


Each driver in the final top-ten in points will receive $1,000 that will be presented at the 2nd annual Radisson Ale House “Winter Bash” and DIRTcar Nationals viewing party on Saturday, February 27th.
