EARLY SEASON BONUSES AWARDED FOR THE 2015 AMERICAN RACER CUP…

“THE WEEKLY HOME TRACK SERIES”

Clarks Summit, PA…Bridgeport Speedway in Sweedsboro, New Jersey kicked off the 2015 American Racer Cup season with the annual “60 Over” Race of Champions modified tour event. With perfect weather on Easter afternoon Ryan Godown held off Rick Laubach to claim the victory. This event starts the 2015 American Racer Cup program for both modified and sportsman teams. Early entrants into the lucrative modified program had their names entered into a drawing for American Race Tires and the sportsman drawing was held for American Race Tire certificates. Ryan Godown drew the winning names for both the modifieds and sportsman in front of the large crowd on hand. Modified tire recipients were Chris Fisher from Woodhull Speedway, Eric Fisher also from Woodhull Speedway, Chris Wood registering at Five Mile Point Speedway, Rick Laubach from Bridgeport Speedway, and Eric Fisher from Black Rock Speedway.

Sportsman registrants that had their names pulled for tire certificates included Jeff Sechrist of Grandview Speedway, Ryan Higgs from Five Mile Point Speedway, Randy Gates of Penn Can Speedway, Jack Miller of Utica Rome Speedway, and Brad Cicio from Five Mile Point Speedway. Tires and certificates will be delivered to the winners at their home tracks.

This season over $50,000 in cash prizes will join the already potent contingency and bonus program posted by the American Racer Cup. The program awards drivers that participate in the program at their weekly race track. The cup is designed for Modified and Sportsman teams with over $150,000 combined in cash, prize and contingencies being awarded right here in the northeast by American Racer and Lias Tire.

A driver never has to leave their home speedway to be part of the ranking system as the points are based solely on home track performance. Bonuses and benefits in conjunction with the Race of Champions Modified and Sportsman tour exist but have no effect on the overall points for the American Racer Cup titles.

Last season Grandview Speedway weekly campaigners Duane Howard (Modifieds) and Jared Umbenahuer (Sportsman) were the overall champions of the American Racer Cup program. Teams are required to purchase a one-time membership that makes them eligible for not only the overall ranking but random tire and certificate drawings at participating race tracks. The Modified membership is $50 and has not changed in price since the inception of the program. The Sportsman membership is $40. Forms can be downloaded at www.dirtmodcup.com.

Once again American Racer Tire, Lias Tire, Sunoco Race Fuels, Insinger Performance and the Race of Champions Dirt Motorsports group have teamed up to present the $150,000 American Racer Cup, a series for the weekend racer where you never have to leave home. Registration will continue as track get up and running for the 2015 season. The registration will remain open until Memorial Day Weekend.
