SELINSGROVE, Pa. --  In a final lap showdown, Pat Cannon of Etters passed
Blane Heimbach of Selinsgrove racing off turn four to take the checkered
flag in Saturday nightís 25-lap 358 sprint car feature at Selinsgrove

Marking the third win of the season at the track for the Highlandsí Tire
Service No. 3 team, Cannon had to start at the rear of the field for a lap
13 restart when he was forced to pit to change a flat tire. Then he
rocketed back to the front of the pack to score his 20th career win in
dramatic fashion.

Persevering through a crash-marred late model feature, Coleby Frye of Dover
won the divisionís 25-lap main event and became the third different winner
this season. In a rare occurrence, Frye lapped the entire field for his
sixth career victory at the track.

AJ Hoffman of Richfield won his second race of the season in the 15-lap pro
stock feature, while Brad Mitch of McClure took his third win in the 12-lap
roadrunner race.

Selinsgrove Speedway will present the Joe Whitcomb Memorial for 358 sprint
cars in addition to the rescheduled Roadrunner 20 plus late models and pro
stocks at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19. Track gates will open at 5 p.m.

Polesitter Cody Keller drove into the lead at the start of the sprint car
feature and was chased by fourth-place starter Matt Horst and second-place
starter Matt Heimbach. Blane Heimbach, who started 10th, powered into the
fourth position by the completion of the first lap.

The first caution flag unfurled on lap eight when Wes Irwinís car rolled to
a stop in turn three. On the restart, Keller continued to set the pace as
B. Heimbach moved into third. Point leader TJ Stutts and Colby Womer both
stopped off turn four following contact with other cars and were forced to
withdraw from the race.

When the race resumed, B. Heimbach passed Horst for second and began to
reel in Keller at the front of the pack. On the 12th circuit, a wild melee
unfolded on the backstretch when Horstís car did several 360-degree spins
before flipping over and collecting several other cars. All drivers escaped
injury. Under the red flag, 12th-place starter Pat Cannon pitted to change
a flat tire and rejoined on the rear of the field.

The ensuing restart produced a wheel-to-wheel duel for the lead between
Keller and B. Heimbach, who made a pass for the lead using the inside lane
entering turn one.  On the 15th circuit, eighth-place starter Larry
Kelleher began to show some speed when he moved into the second position,
while Keller, Cannon, Nate Snyder, and Phil Walter raced in the top five.

The red flag stopped the race on lap 24 when Kellerís motor expired and
caused a brief fire in turn three. Keller escaped injury. The incident set
up a one-lap chase to the checkered flag between B. Heimbach and Cannon,
who had moved into second on lap 19.

Entering turn one on the restart, B. Heimbach moved to the top of the race
track to block Cannonís charge. Racing through turns three and four, Cannon
moved to the bottom of the track and took the lead racing off turn four.
Cannon was victorious by just .11 of a second over B. Heimbach at the
checkered flag. B. Heimbach, Kelleher, Snyder, and Walter completed the top

On the third attempt to start the late model feature, a spectacular crash
on the frontstretch involving 10 cars stopped the race. Steve Campbellís
No. 2 race car rolled over several times in the incident. All the drivers
involved escaped injury.

When the race resumed, outside front row starter Kenny Trevitz led the
first two laps until original 12th-place starter Coleby Fry powered into
the front spot. Trevitz maintained the runner up position through lap six,
when seventh-place starter Tony Adams began to make his way to the front of
the field.

On the 16th circuit, Adams withdrew from the race with mechanical problems,
allowing fifth-place starter Matt Cochran to inherit the second position.
Meanwhile, ninth-place starter Jeff Smith raced in the third position.
Smith took over second with one lap remaining, however by this point, Frye
had lapped the entire field.

Frye took the checkered flag over Smith, Trevitz, polesitter James Cornell,
and fourth-place starter Kyle Rhoads.

Polesitter Gerald Kratzer streaked into the early lead in the pro stock
feature. Kratzer was trailed by third-place starter Kyle Bachman and
eighth-place starter AJ Hoffman. Current point leader AJ Stroup stopped his
racer on the backstretch on lap three.

When the race resumed, Kratzer continued to set the pace as Hoffman moved
into second. On the eighth circuit, when Bachmanís car began to fall off
the pace in turn three, Kratzerís car drifted high in turn four, allowing
Hoffman to take the lead.

For the second half of the race, Hoffman pulled away from the field.
Meanwhile, fourth-place starter Shaun Miller and Kratzer dueled for the
runner up position. At the finish, Hoffman was victorious by 3.2 seconds
over Miller, Kratzer, Dave Brouse Jr., and Jason Schmidt.

Second-place starter Brian Johnson led the first lap of the roadrunner
feature. On the second circuit, eighth-place starter and current point
leader Brad Mitch took over the front spot.

Keith Bissinger made his first start of the season and powered into second
from his 10th starting position by lap three. By the midway point of the
event, however, seventh-place starter Scott Dunham Jr. horsepowered his way
into second and set his sites on the leader.

Racing off turn four for the checkered flag, S. Dunham made a last-ditch
effort to snag the lead and the win to no avail. Mitch was victorious by
.28 of a second over S. Dunham, Ricky Bender, Eric Pinkerton, and Johnson.
