WINTER WEATHER PUTS A STOP TO SELINSGROVE ICEBREAKER WEEKEND

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Track officials cancelled all racing and practice sessions scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, March 16-17, at Selinsgrove Speedway & Raceway Park due to the inclement weather.

With snow blanketing the historic Snyder County oval Saturday morning and a forecast for temperatures in the 30’s through Sunday, the decision to cancel the remainder of the weekend’s activities was announced at 10:30 a.m.

The cancellation of the sixth annual Alexander Family Dealerships Icebreaker 40 for the Race of Champions big block modifieds is the first since the event’s inception in 2008. The race will not be rescheduled this year.

Duane Howard of Oley won Friday night’s 358 modified show over Ryan Godown of Ringoes, N.J.

Selinsgrove Raceway Park, the one-fifth mile track located inside of Selinsgrove’s half-mile oval, will present the go kart season opener at 7 p.m. Friday, March 22.

Selinsgrove Speedway will host the first four division show of the season featuring 358 sprint cars, late models, pro stocks and roadrunners at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 23.
