Flemington Speedway Historical Society Gala Set For Sat., Jan. 18


FLEMINGTON, NJ: The 2014 Tas Award Ceremony, honoring Flemington Speedway's most influential persons, will be presented Saturday, January 18 at the Flemington Elks Lodge #1928, 165 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.

 

Named for the inaugural recipient, champion driver and track official Al Tasnady, this year's Tas Award honorees are drivers Stan Ploski and Sammy Beavers, car owner Ken Brenn Sr., track photographer Ace Lane Sr., and Bill Singer, who for thirty three years was the voice of Flemington Speedway. 

 

Flemington Speedway Historical Society Incorporated (FSHS) is the host for the event which includes their fourth annual Nostalgic Movie Night. The doors open at 5:00 pm, and the entertainment - featuring historical auto racing movies - begins at 6:00 and runs through 10:00 pm. 

 

The Elks’ bar and kitchen will be open for business. FSHS souvenir merchandise and memberships will be available. Race cars and memorabilia will be displayed, door prizes and more are planned. 

 

This popular event is open to the public, and you're invited. Tickets are limited by fire code, so act now, don't be turned away.
