Versatile Bitner Competes in 410 and 305 Ranks
Mr. Twister Mark Bitner headed to New Egypt Speedway last
week with his 410-sprint car in tow.
Bitner who was returning to New Egypt after the initial attempt at the
Jersey Rush was rained out started 7th in his heat race and finished
in the same position.
Bitner then started in the 13th position for the 25-lap
main event paying $5,000 to win. Bitner
moved up multiple positions and was battling with Steve Buckwalter when the
drive to the power steering pump and fuel pump broke sending the 15 to the
sideline for the remainder of the event.
Bitner was back in action on Saturday night with the Brian
Nixon owned #202 305 sprint car headed to Bridgeport Speedway. Bitner who has multiple wins at the large 5/8-mile
facility started 2nd in his heat race and won his heat race. Bitner then started in the 5th
position for the feature event. Bitner
battled up to the 3rd position but ultimately lost the battle with
Austin Bishop finishing in the 4th position
This weekend Bitner and the team will head to Selinsgrove Speedway
to compete with the Capitol Renegade United Racing Club.
