Whittall’s Night Soured by Heat Race Mishap

Justin Whittall and the Atlantic Utility Trailers Inc, World Wide Bearings, Pioneer Auto Body team headed to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night to compete with the Capitol Renegade United Racing Club.

With 42 cars signed into the pit area, Whittall was 3rd quickest in hot laps, but a poor draw put the 67w car in the 5th position in heat race 5.  With 4 cars advancing to the feature and only 2 going to the redraw the red white and blue car headed to the topside in turns 3 and 4 and then to the bottom going into turn 1.  Unfortunately, the young driver caught the inside rail and launching the front of the car into the air, flattening the right front tire.  Whittall needed assistance back into the pit area.

Starting 6th in B-Main 1, and only taking two the odds were against Whittall.  The young hotshoe took several attempts to advance into a transferring position but unfortunately missed the cut.

Whittall and the team will now service the car and head north to the Selinsgrove Speedway for Saturday nights Capitol Renegade United Racing Club event.
