Stillwaggon Rides Backup Car to 10th Place Finish

Robbie Stillwaggon and the 89 Quality Auto Body team headed to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night to compete with the Capitol Renegade United Racing Club.

During the hot lap session, there was something amiss in the 360 motor.  With the URC rules stating that a backup car can be brought out before the heat races, the 89 team quickly went to work on preparing the backup car.

Stillwaggon started 3rd in heat race 2 behind the cars of Jimmy Stitzel and the 8c of Brian Carber.  Stillwaggon took the lead on lap 4 en route to a heat race victory and a spot in the redraw.

Stillwaggon started the 25-lap feature event 7th position and was up to 3rd by lap 4.  The team took a shot at the set up and in the beginning laps looked to pay off.  Stillwaggon then began falling as the race went on due to a broken wing slider prohibiting him from adjusting his wing as the fuel load burned off and the track surface changed.  Stillwaggon brought home a 10th place finish.

After the races, the team loaded up and headed north electing to skip the URC race at Selinsgrove the team drove right by the PA track heading up to the Fulton Speedway.  Stillwaggon will now run with the Empire Super Sprints the remainder of the weekend racing at Fulton on Saturday, Utica Rome on Sunday and Weedsport on Monday before returning home.
