Whittall’s Weekend Full of Bad Luck

Justin Whittall and the Atlantic Utility Trailers Inc, World Wide Bearing, Pioneer Auto Body team headed to central PA this past weekend to compete with the Capitol Renegade United Racing Club.

Saturday night the 67w team was one of 54 sprint cars to sign into the pit area.  Whittall started the 5th and final heat race in the 5th position.  With 3 advancing, Whittall was in good position to advance into the feature event, until a first lap tangle with competitor Brie Hershey sent the 67w team to the pits with damage.  Unable to restart, Whittall headed to the consolation event.

Whittall started in the 10th position for consi one and with only two advancing out of each consolation event, Whittall had his work cut out for him.  Unfortunately, the youngster failed to qualify for the event.

On Sunday, the team headed to Path Valley Speedway.  Whittall had been to the small bullring before, but with his 600cc micro sprint.  With 21 teams signed into the pit area, Whittall started in the 2nd position for his heat race but a heat race incident sent the 67w team to the rear.  With all cars advancing to the feature event, Whittall started in the 15th position and brought home a 12th place finish.

Whittall will now prep the cars for this weekend as the team travels north to the Outlaw Speedway on Friday night for the annual Outlaw Speedway Fall Nationals.  The race combines all regional 360 series with Patriot, United Racing Club and ESS all represented and pay $5,000 to win.  On Saturday night, the team will tow to Fonda Speedway.  The Track of Champions will be hosting all three series for the second consecutive night and will pay tribute to fall URC Champion Kramer Williamson with the Kramer Williamson Memorial race.
