Franek Heads North for Canadian Sprint Car Nationals

Davie Franek and the Franek Auto Sales 28f team headed north to the Ohsweken Speedway for the 13th annual Canadian Sprint Car Nationals.  The team left with the hard charger award and rookie of the race award. 

On Friday night, with 51 cars signed into the pit area, Franek started and finished in the 2nd position in heat race #1 advancing into feature 2 for the night.  Franek started feature 2 on the night in the 7th position and brought home a 6th place finish when the 15 laps were completed. 

On Saturday night with 58 cars signed into the pit area, Franek started 3rd in heat race 3 and brought home a 5th place finish.  With only the top 3 advancing into the feature event, Franek would have to one of the 3 consolation events in order to get into the feature event.  Franek started in the 4th position for consi 1 and brought home a 3rd place finish, qualifying for the 35-lap feature event paying $15,000 to win. 

Franek started the 35-lap feature event in the 26th position and was up to 18th by lap 12.  Franek continued a steady climb to 15th by lap 18 and then into 13th just 3 laps later.  Franek brought home an 11th place finish at the end of the 35 laps advancing 15 spots and finishing just 1 spot outside the top 10. 

This weekend Franek will head north again as the team travels north to the Outlaw Speedway on Friday night for the annual Outlaw Speedway Fall Nationals.  The race combines all regional 360 series with Patriot, United Racing Club and ESS all represented and pay $5,000 to win.  On Saturday night, the team will tow to Fonda Speedway.  The Track of Champions will be hosting all three series for the second consecutive night and will pay tribute to fall URC Champion Kramer Williamson with the Kramer Williamson Memorial race.
