Weller Satisfied with 6th Place Finish at Outlaw Speedway

Not many times Josh Weller has been satisfied with a 6th place finish, but after Friday night’s United Racing Club visit to Outlaw Speedway, Weller was satisfied because he brought home the Schearers VW & Audi Specialists 63 car from a 20th starting position.

Josh Weller and the 63 team headed north to the Outlaw Speedway on Friday night to complete in the 2nd Annual Fall Nationals.  Weller just one year ago was in contention to win the race when a late race lapped car cost him the $5,000 to payday.  Weller this year started in the 9th position for heat race and brought home a 6th place finish.  With 5 cars transferring into the feature event, Weller was forced to run one of two B-Mains.

Weller started on the pole for the first B-Main and went uncontested as the 63 car lead all 8 laps finishing with a lead by almost a straight away.

By virtue of his B-Main win, Weller started in the 20th position for the 30-lap feature event.  By the lap 10 caution Weller was into 16th place, just seven laps later, Weller made his appearance into the top 10 and on the final caution of the night Weller was shown in 8th on lap 23.  On the lap 24 restart, Weller shot between both Thomas and Shultz and into the 4th running position.  Weller went on to hang onto 6th with Jonathan Preston clipping the 63 at the line.

Weller will now have some time off before returning to action with the United Racing Club on Saturday October 21st at the Port Royal Speedway.  Earlier this year, Weller brought home an 11th place finish in May when the United Racing Club visited the famed Central PA track.
