Leonard H. Yurgin, Sr. ,affectionately known as "POP" to everyone , age 78 of Harrisonville, NJ passed away suddenly at Crozier Chester Medical Center, Upland Pa. on Jan 27, 2009. Born in Rahway,NJ he resided in Harrisonville for the past 40 yrs. coming from Mickleton.

Pop was self employed most of his life, as a chef at the Pitman Diner which was family owned, a race car driver and owner of Dover Race Speedway, a truck driver, a surplus dealer and a used truck dealer. An Army veteran, he was a member of the VFW in Mullica Hill, NJ.

Pop was an avid bargain hunter, enjoying the flea markets, Cowtown, the Berlin Market and every Dollar Store that he could find. He had that unique trait of bargaining for the price the he wanted to pay and would always win out.

Pop would have been married to his little chick-a-dee, Edith (nee DeVault) for 50 yrs this coming November. He also leaves his children, Annette (Steve) Finocchiaro, Leonard H. Yurgin Jr. Edie Stecher, Peter (April) Yurgin, Phillip (Ida) Yurgin, Susie (Greg) Roberts, Patty Sheldon, Eddie (Kelly) Yurgin Maryann (Michael) Morris, PeggySue Yurgin & Tarryn (AKA Karen) Andy Yurgin and Katie Yurgin, his loving 23 grandchildren, a sister Anna Geisler and a brother Peter Yurgin and was predeceased by his brother Ludwig.

Friends may call at the CHEEGA FUNERAL HOME 1329 Kings Highway, Swedesboro, NJ on Mon. Feb 2 from 9am to 1pm. A service will follow with interment at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ. Share memories and condolences at www.cheegafuneralhome.com.
