WARREN COUNTY FARMERS FAIR DIRT TRACK HEROES SHOW HONORING WARD CROZIER SUNDAY, JULY 26TH - by Ken Kuhlman

Phiilipsburg, NJ - The always well received years Warren County, NJ Farmers Fair will again be hosting a Dirt Track Race Cars, Drivers & Memorabilia Show Sunday, July 26th organized by the Harmony Speedway Historical Society. The Fair is set to run for seven days getting underway on the 26th and continuing trhough Saturday, August 1st.

The Harmony Speedway was located just minutes away from the site of the Warren County Fair opening on June 7, 1963 and holding its final race on September 7, 1975. Thus, the Harmony Speedway Historical Society was founded in 2007 with the purpose of preserving the history of this race track that still exists today on River Road, just outside of the Village of Brainards in Harmony Township.

Builder of that race track, Carl Van Horn, a noted modified stock car driver and also Harmony Speedway's race promoter during its first four years of operation, was honored in a very special ceremony at last year's Fair. Honored in 2009 by the HSHC will be another former Harmony Speedway promoter, Ward Crozier and his wife Dottie.

Numerous race drivers from the glory days of Harmony Speedway like its all-time feature race winner Frankie Schneider, along with the winner of the first race ever held there Sammy Beavers, in addition to Bob Pickell, Tighe Scott, Ray Neary, Russ Stecker, Charlie Shire, Carl Van Horn and numerous others are expected to be in attendance on Sunday, July 26th to relive the Harmony racing era with the fans.

That day will also see a wide array of vintage race cars on display during the opening day of the fair festivities along with memorabilia displays and much more.
