RACE CARS RETURNING TO FLEMINGTON AUG 19-23

It has been nearly a decade since stock cars raced on the five-eigths-of-a-mile "squared cirle" Flemington Fair Speedway.

Racecars drivers and plenty of memories of that historic race track will again be abundant during the Flemington Fair Race Car Show, Memorabilia & Vintage Race Car Show event at the 10th Anniversary Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural fair at the South County Park near Ringoes, NJ from August 19-23. The first speedway tribute at last year's fair proved so popular that the show's organizers, Wyatt Jacobus and Clint Bush, are planning an even bigger event this time around.

All during the five day fair run, stock cars and the men who drove them during the glory days at the Flemington Fair Speedway along with East Windsor Speedway and other area race tracks no longer existing will be present.

The headline day of Sunday, August 23rd is expected to draw in excess 100 drivers from that era to meet the fans and sign autographs. Numerous vintage race cars and other race-related memorabilia and displays will be a part of this event.

For countless years, the Raritan Township "Flemington" track, now the site of a shopping center hosted dirt track modified stock car racing on Saturday nights. Itbecame nationally known as "Modified Country U.S.A." and rightfully so. The last race held there was in 2000.
