7TH ANNUAL DAYTONA 500 SPEED WEEKEND PARTY AT THE SERGEANTSVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY

 The 7th annual Champion Tire, Liberty Elevator, John P Martin Excavating Daytona 500 Speed Weekend Party at the Sergeantsville Volunteer Fire Co, is in full swing preparation mode. The two day event is Saturday Feb 13th, and Sunday Feb 14th. Donít worry about Valentines Day we have a special gift for all ladies in attendance. We are located about 7 miles west of the old Flemington Speedway on Rt 523 Delaware Township. Our event sponsors should be congratulated for their huge support of our fund raiser.

I would like to acknowledge my sponsors in our hall of fame, these are the sponsors that have been supporting us in each of the six previous events, and they are:

Of Course this event would not have ever been off the ground if it wasnít for my fellow fireman who back in 1996 after a packed house in my garage watching the Daytona 500 convinced me to start this event in 1997. Here we are at the 7th Annual Champion Tire, Liberty Elevator , John P Martin Excavating Daytona 500 speed weekend Party.

The event is basically a two day event where on Saturday evening we have our own roundtable speakers, Ken Kuhlman, John McCaughey, Fred Voorhees and Steve Barrick with Joe Mazza acting as MC, I have very big news: Stan Ploski and ?????? Will be guest of honors on Saturday nightís roundtable discussion. Billy Pauch and son will always have an open door at this event, and hopefully they will return for this very special event. We will also hope to have Billy Pauchís restored 1976 race car on display. The Polenz Racing Team cars, Ryan Godowns car lettered by Xtreme Graphics with sponsorship by Champion Tire, Clint Millers Slingshot, Jarret Rozycki rookie car and many more.

On Sunday all the food and drinks are back along with raffles for merchandise, 100ís of door prizes, 50/50ís, drivers pools and of course the race shown of 4 professionally installed projection TVís with superior sound which is provided by Video Corp of America out of Somerset NJ. We have NASCAR / NES souvenir vendor Cluttered Room Collectables to sell their merchandise on site. There is a cash bar, however draft beer, draft soda and box wine are included with your ticket. We even have TVís in the rest rooms. Menu will include pizza made fresh on the spot, hot dogs, roast beef sandwiches, pop corn, Nachoís, hamburgers, home made soup, hoagies and much more. This event, in its 7th year has contributed over $45,000.00 to the treasury of the firehouse. No person receives any compensation from this event, even the bar tipís are added to the kitty. Thanks to the Delaware Township Public works dept who allows us to store the fire trucks right down the road.

The dates are Saturday Feb 13th from 7:00 pm Ė 10:00 pm, and doors open on Sunday Feb 14th at 11:30am the party goes on till 1 hour after the race gets the checker flag. Tickets are $25.00 each and are good for both days. Table reservations are accepted by purchasing 10 tickets, also single tickets are sold in advance and at the door. Tickets will be available on or about Feb 2, 2010
