The Jason Bashore Benefit
The 2010 racing season may have ended but you can join local racers when they come together on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Fredericksburg Community Center for the benefit of Jason Bashore.  This event is just one week away so don't wait any longer to make your plans to attend!
Jason was injured in the shop of his BFP Specialities on Labor Day Weekend.  While he is well on his way to recovering from the injuries that he sustained, his friends in racing have organized this event to help to offset the cost of his outstanding medical expenses.  Jason was airlifted to Hershey Medical Center  for emergency treatment but the cost of the air transport remains to be satisfied.
On December 11th, things will get underway at the Fredericksburg Community Center at 6pm with a meal from Kauffman's BBQ chicken with all of the fixings.  Soda and beer are included with the meal.  This event is BYOB.    DJ "Jamming" Jimmy Payne will provide the music beginning at 7:30.
New York driver, Todd Burley has added his name to the list of drivers planning to attend which includes Craig VonDohren, Billy Pauch Jr., Jeff Strunk, Kyle Follweiler and Kevin Albert.
A silent auction will highlight the night's festivities, featuring racing collectibles donated by area drivers.  Duane Howard has provided a racing suit and helmet to be auctioned off in his absence as he attends the NASCAR banquet in Charlotte, NC.  Billy Pauch Jr.'s green and black Pioneer Pole Building racing suit will be among the items up for auction.  There will be signed pieces of Clark Angstadt's artwork and an old time model race car that has been donated by Hiester's for the auction.  John Willman Motorsports has donated a drum of racing fuel and a case of Penn Brad Racing Oil.  Anyone intersted in donating items to the auction can do so by contacting Ben Moyer.
Tickets are $20 for advance tickets or $25 if purchased at the door.  Please call in advance to reserve tickets.  For ticket information contact Ben Moyer at (717) 679-4816 or Tracy Kauffman at (717)376-5987.
Anyone interested in contributing to the 1st Annual Toy Drive, conducted by Boobie Nation for the benefit of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, can bring a new and unwrapped toy to the benefit.  Collection boxes will be set up at the benefit for this purpose. Questions about toy donations should be directed to Amy Knappenberger at (610) 217-5848. A list of gift needs can be found at
Use Tan & Chestnut Street, Fredericksburg, PA  17026 to locate the community center on your GPS.
For those seeking overnight accomodations, hotel rooms are available at the Comfort Inn, Midway.  Call (717) 933-8888 and mention Jason Bashore for the special event rate.
