Veteran racer Craig Von Dohren has joined Searock Motorsports owners Steve and Diane Searock as their driver for small block competition at Big Diamond Speedway this season.

The 51 year old racer out of Oley, PA is excited to try and get Steve and Diane their first small block win. Last season, Steve and Diane decided to build and field a small block car for racer Keith Hoffman and try out being car owners. “We had fun last year and some really great runs with Keith. Keith was a really good friend and I hoped things would have worked out. We  had some good showings at Grandview. We thought we had a good car for the 76er, but we lost our only motor at the Coalcracker. This was a big let down on our season and ended our hopes for 2014. Keith has a very busy schedule with his speed shop and Bridgeport Speedway and no plans were set for 2015”, said Searock.

“We have three cars in our shop now and didn’t really have any plans for 2015. Steve has a sportsman, small block and big block car he had built in the shop.  Our new adventure into the Fabrication and Speed Supplies business has consumed a lot of our off season time. A conversation with Craig had brought some new energy and excitement  to us and a deal was reached to put Craig in our car. “Craig being the all time leader in feature wins at Big Diamond made this a no brainer. I feel we will work very well together and become a team you will know is at the track very quickly“, stated Steve.

Craig will pilot a 2014 Troyer race car with a brand new Nick Gatto power plant in it. It will carry sponsorship from Steve and Diane’s companies Searock’s Lawn Care and Searock Fabrication and Speed Supplies. It will also carry the Searock Motorsports #26 on it. Craig will run weekly at Big Diamond for Searock Motorsports. He has a few prior commitments for some of the bigger shows . “We expect to have a great season with Craig behind the wheel. We are looking to get into victory lane with him. Our focus has become on supplying Craig with a car that can win on any night,” said Searock.

Steve and Diane have already made a commitment at Big Diamond with racer Mike Mammana to run their sportsman motor. Another sportsman racer Steve Desmelyk who’s car is maintained by Searock’s speed shop will also be a regular at Big Diamond this season. Desmelyk is coming off his rookie season at Bridgeport speedway and looks forward to calling Big Diamond home in 2015. When asked what his own plans for racing in 2015 were going to be Searock stated, “We are going to be busy, real busy this year. I’m hoping to run some of the Poker Series and Brett Deyo races in our Smith Excavating and Paving sponsored big block car. We would also like to  take out our 2013 Teo small block somewhere on Saturday nights. I’m really not sure yet.”

Searock Motorsports and Searock Fabrication and Speed Supplies are busy getting cars ready for the start of the car show at the Phillipsburg Mall. Steve Searock’s #26 big block car and Steve Desmelyk’s #8 1/2 Sportsman will be on display all week at the show. If you get a chance stop by and take a look.

Look for this team to come out hungry April 10th at Big Diamond Speedway.
