YORK COUNTY RACING CLUB/KEVIN GOBRECHT MEMORIAL FUND TO BENEFIT FROM AUCTION

By Brad Vores for Racing Xtravaganza

While final details are still being worked out, the Racing Xtravaganza show will feature an auction that will benefit the York County Racing Club and the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Scholarship Fund.

In what will be racing fans “Prescription for Racing Xcitement” during the upcoming offseason, Racing Xtravaganza is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 6-7, 2016 at the UTZ Arena on the grounds of the York Fair.

“The York County Racing Club was always a big part of the former show and we’re looking to get them more involved once again and this will be a way for them to benefit and put back into their club,” said Racing Xtravaganza show organizer John Krall. “We’ve asked them to bring back their bake sale as well. It’s a great organization for people to be part of.”

Port Royal, PA auctioneer Scotty Best will call the auction.

“People can drop off items at the York County Racing Club or get in contact with a Board Member if they have items for the auction,” Krall added. “Folks can bring items to the show as well and it doesn’t have to be a racing related item. People have a need for everything. We’re hoping to make this a big success and build on it for the future.”

Founded in 1979, the York County Racing Club has grown to over 3,000 active members, making it one of the largest of its kind in the county. They operate the Injured Drivers Fund for any membership driver that becomes injured with additional income while out of work.
