Lebanon Valley’s Chris Kokosa Aims to Make More History at the Moody Mile
Former Syracuse Sportsman Champion Attempting to Repeat Victory

BELCHERTOWN, MA – September 17, 2015 -- With the demise of dirt racing at the New York State Fairgrounds made official earlier this week by DirtCar Motorsports, an unlikely Sportsman driver is dusting off his firesuit and helmet in an attempt to make more Dirt Track history in the last race ever at “Moody Mile” #OneMoreTime.

Chris Kokosa was a Sportsman staple at Lebanon Valley Speedway from 1992 through 1999. In 2000 he ran in both the Modified and Sportsman divisions at the classic, high-banked oval and then returned to the Sportsman ranks full time again in 2006 and ‘07 with a sprinkling of travelling modified races in the between years. He racked up 24 career feature wins, 4th on the all-time Sportsman win list at Lebanon. Chris put his racing career on hold those non-race years to start a business and a family. But, as is typically the case, the racing desire has never really left him. It’s always been in his blood.

In 1998, Team 00 made the requisite trek west to Syracuse and Kokosa won the biggest race of his career, the coveted Super Dirt Week Sportsman Championship. Chris is still the only Lebanon Valley driver to ever win that race in its 14-year history.

Fast forward now, to 2015 and the proclaimed end of the Moody Mile. The last chance for a long-time competitor to post another “W” in the Win column at Super Dirt Week and make a mark in history as the only two-time winner and the only Lebanon Valley winner at the Mile, Forever. Chris had to make this happen.

Kokosa Motorsports has teamed up with Brian Peterson and his Peterson Racing #82 will be shedding its skin and reemerging like the phoenix, as the Kokosa Motorsports 00. A fresh crate motor has been lined up and the sponsors are starting to come together nicely, as many want the opportunity to be a part of history and the “Finale at the Fairground” on October 11, 2015.

Chris and his crew members, some old and some new, headed up by long-time friend and competitor Mike Middleton, are pulling together for one last #FinaleAtTheFairgrounds and hoping to leave their exclamation mark in history at the legendary Super Dirt Week mile.
