Austin Hubbard back in Georgetown Speedway Victory Lane

Austin Hubbard of Seaford DE made his visit to Georgetown Speedway Friday night a memorable one as he claimed his second feature win of the season at the speedway. Austin had all of his family in attendance , and most importantly his Uncle Jeff Banning. After many years of sponsoring his nephews racing efforts, Banning owner of Trinity Transport finally got to witness Austin winning for the first time in a Super Late Model in person.
Dale Lingo blasted into the lead at the start of the 20 lap Super Late Model feature event as he grabbed the top spot over Amanda Whaley at the drop of the green flag. While Dale Lingo was setting a blistering pace up front 6th place starter Austin Hubbard was charging his way through the field. At the halfway point of the event Hubbard was able to get pass Whaley for second and began to set his sights on leader Lingo who was nearly a straight away ahead. Lingo was catching lapped traffic as the race wore on which aloud Hubbard to drastically close the gap. Hubbard was able to slip past Lingo with a low side pass coming out of turn 4 with 5 laps remaining and would go on unchallenged to claim his 2nd win of the season at the speedway.”Dale run a great race. He was kinda running in the black and I found the brown on the bottom and was able to get better traction. It was a fun clean race and that’s enjoyable” said Hubbard in victory lane. Dale Lingo would hold on to second for his best finish of the season with Amanda Whaley rounding out the top 3
Tim Trimble would rally from his 5th starting spot Friday night to claim the 25 lap Crate Modified feature event. Trimble gained the top spot early on in the feature and would go unchallenged the rest of the way to claim the victory. Local NASCAR talent CJ Faison was in Trimble’s backup car and was able to grab a 5th place finish in his first dirt start of the season giving the Ellis Motorsports Team a pair of top 5 finishes for the night.
Eric Vent in only his second start of the season would capture his first Crate Late Model feature of the season. Vent got a great jump on the field as the green flag waved and would dominate the entire 15 lap Crate Late feature event. Fourth place starter Matt Hill would grab second early on but was no match for Vent as Hill would finish in the 2nd spot with Mike Wharton rounding out the top 3.
Ashley Merritt would once again prove to all the “boys” that she is a force to contend with as she would claim the 12 lap Delmarva Charger feature Friday night. Merritt would grab the lead from her outside pole starting position at the drop of the green and never look back. Ashley would build up nearly a full straight away lead by the time the checkered flag flew leaving all the boys scratching their heads.
Shane Clogg was back in winning form in the Super Truck division Friday night. Clogg took full advantage of his pole position starting spot and would lead all 12 laps of the feature event unchallenged. Mike Lewis rallied from his 15th starting spot to claim the 2nd spot with Robert Paczkowski rounding out the top 3
