KEVIN JORDAN LEADS RACE OF CHAMPIONS SPORTSMAN TO PENN CAN FINALE THIS SATURDAY

The Race of Champions Sportsman will close out their season this Saturday at Penn Can Speedway for the King of the Can. Kevin Jordan will lead the open Sportsman to the track as he sits atop the RoC standings. Race time on Saturday afternoon is 2:00 p.m.

Jordan will only need to take the green flag in the feature to wrap up the 2015 Race of Champions title. Lurking in the shadows is 2015 Penn Can point runnerup Ryan Olsommer with his 602 Crate Sportsman. Olsommer has beaten the Open Sportsman in the past at Penn Can and will look to do so again on Saturday. There will be Crate bonuses to the top three finishers across the line. The top three 602 Crate Sportsman will take home an extra $100, $75 and $50 respectively.

Currently sitting third in the point standings is Brad Szulewski, who is coming off a big win last Saturday at Five Mile Point. Szulewski is just one point behind Olsommer and is only three points ahead of Kenny Hammond, who currently sits in fourth in the standings. Charlie Hendrickson rounds out the top five, just 16 points behind Hammond. A lot can change on Saturday between those drivers.

Randy Green, Mike Austin, Cory Pike, Nick Nye and Ryan Higgs currently sit in positions six through ten. Brian White sits just a few points out of tenth and could move up a few positions with a strong finish. White is a past RoC winner at Penn Can.

The RoC Sportsman will be joined by the RoC Street Stocks, IMCA Style Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Four Cylinders and Slingshots by Tobias as Penn Can closes out the King of the Can Weekend and the 2015 racing season.

Pit gates open on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the grandstand opening at noon. Hot laps will get underway at 1:00 p.m. with the first heat taking the green flag at 2:00 p.m. Penn Can Speedway is located on Route 171 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania.
