AARON BOWES CONTINUES WINNING WAYS IN XCEL CHASSIS TOUR DIVISION

AT PENN CAN SPEEDWAY

When you're hot you're hot. Everyone knows how easy it is to go from hero to zero in 20 laps on any given night. An experienced racer knows to enjoy the good while it last cause nothing last forever. Nazareth native Aaron Bowes enjoyed another trip to victory lane at Penn Can Speedway on Friday August 29th.

"This car is perfect. What a way to start the Labor Day Weekend. Not sure  where I'll be for the rest of the weekend but I know I will be supporting a track.  There is nothing that I could have done to make the car better. Abbey gave me a good run right from the start. She has come a long way and should be proud of how she is doing. It just goes to show that if you put the time and effort in the garage it will pay off at the track." stated Bowes after tech .

Bowes, Will Eastman and young gun Kam Maby  gave notice as they each won their respective heat races and the field would be set.

A near perfect track was prepped for the mighty modifieds  with Abbey Price sitting P1 after the top three redraw set the top nine. Eastman would have to start 10th since he was a previous feature winner with Jon Pepe starting 9th being the most recent winner. Richie Hitzler held a narrow 1 point lead over Bowes coming into the nights event and hoped to gain some ground.

Lap #6 would see  Hitzler go pit side due to a tire going down and end his night but not his determination. "Tonight was just one of those nights. Bowes is tough so now I need to step it up another notch to get back where I was. He's on a tear right now and seems he  can't do anything wrong. Staying focused is and will be the motto for the rest of the season.

After Bowes got past Price, he sets his sights on the checkered flag just as his competitors set their sights on the leader.   Eastman had come from 24th place after an earlier spin to put pressure on the rental car driven by Austin Burke with Ryan Higgs filling in for injured driver Nathan Brinker right on  Eastman's bumper. A tough battle for the top five gave Bowes the cushion he needed to take the win and the points lead for the tour division.

"It just got stepped up a notch. There are enough races left that the points champion is still up for grabs. Hitzler is always tough and so is Pepe and Burrows. There will be some tough racing to finish out the year and I can't wait. This is what makes a better racer with  the caliber of drivers we have." stated Bowes,"  Our next tour race will be I-88 on Friday September 12th with Thunder Mountain on the schedule for Sunday the 14th. Allot could happen on a double weekend."

Keep up with the points battle on the website xcelchassis.com and look for the date to be announced shortly for the yearly fall meeting at the Xcel Chassis shop.  Preview and rules for the 2015 are discussed and is open to the public.
