WILL EASTMAN WINS KING OF THE CAN

AARON BOWES 2014 XCEL CHASSIS CHAMPION

A king and a champion were crowned this past weekend at Penn Can Speedway on Saturday October 18th. Despite the threat of showers a full field of cars were there to win a spot on the throne but only one could wear the crown. Will Eastman, driving for Bob Rowback, did just that in high fashion taking the lead on lap #2 and never looking back. Aaron Bowes would just have to take the green to become the 2014 champion after a year of ups and downs.

“I have to thank Bob and Connie for letting me run their new car. I wanted to stay in the top ten in points and couldn’t have done it without their help. The new car for next year is already under construction so ending the season in victory lane is perfect”. stated Eastman

The drivers were anxious to get the feature started and after a jittery start, twenty four drivers put on a show for the loyal spectators who braved the weather.

Eastman charged to the front with Bowes and Korey Inglin right on his bumper. Inglin and Bowes raced side by side without losing too much ground to Eastman with Richie Hitzler within reaching distance to take advantage of any opening that could possibly make a bold move possible.

Blankets could be seen in the stands and one blanket could fit the field in a close match with the middle of the field a car length from the leaders and the rear of the field close behind.

After taking the green, Bowes had nothing to lose and set his sights on Eastman. Both drivers let it all out and spectators were treated to some of the hardest driving of the year with Eastman taking the win followed by Bowes and Inglin.

Aaron Bowes  was officially declared the 2014 Xcel Champion after a final points review by Xcel owner Doug Borger. Aaron will celebrate his season on December 6th when Xcel Chassis will host its 2014 banquet. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling Doug @ 610-681-2689.

The Xcel Chassis 600 modifieds will close the season on November 1st at Five Mile Point Speedway located in Kirkwood, NY.
