FRIDAY PORTION OF FIVE MILE POINT SPEEDWAY NATIONAL QUARTER MILE DIRT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND MOVED TO THIS SUNDAY.  SATURDAY MODIFIED SCHEDULE AND 45TH SOUTHERN TIER 100 REMAIN INTACT.

KIRKWOOD, NY...The held over National Quarter Mile Dirt Track Championship Weekend is this weekend at Five Mile Point Speedway.  Tonight's (Friday) racing card has been moved to this Sunday at 3:05 p.m.  That program will feature the RoC Sportsman Championship event, Racesaver 305 Nationals, Factory Stock and Four Cylinder Racing. 

The Saturday racing program remains i
ntact as the remainder of the weekend looks solid weather wise.  The 45th running of the Southern Tier 100 for Modifieds will take center stage on Saturday.  That races pays a minimum of $5,555 to win.  Saturday will also see championship races for the GRIT 602 Crate Sportsman Series, Race of Champions Street Stocks and IMCA Modified Empire State Series Tour.

Claude Hutchings, Jr. is the defending Race of Champions Sportsman title holder.  Hutchings enters Sunday's rescheduled 100 lapper for Sportsman as the point leader.  Hutchings is one of the top runners at the Utica Rome Speedway.  The RoC Sportsman standings are well represented as over 185 different teams competed on the tour in 2014.  Brandon Walters a weekly campaigner at the I-88 Speedway is in second place.  Penn Can Speedway driver Butch Green is third with Randy Shantel another Utica Rome Speedway weekly runner currently in fourth place.  Steve Davis out of New Jersey split his time between the Bridgeport and New Egypt Speedway while following the tour and sits in fifth place entering the weekend.
