American Racer Cup Schedule Release - Please See Our Friday Contingency Plans IF We Rain Out

Date: 10/9/2015 9:40:52 AM

We are still racing this Friday at Five Mile Point Speedway but wanted to announce our contingency plan IF needed...

We are getting a huge amount of calls regarding our Friday American Racer Cup Modified program. We have a lot of the SpeedSTR teams bringing Modifieds to race on Friday along with their own Saturday show.

IF Friday rains out, the Modified American Racer Cup portion of the weekend would be moved to another weekend. We would add a Modified 30 lap - $2,000 to win show this Saturday.

We have a lot of our weekly guys that are not going to Afton this weekend that wanted a race. In addition several of the SpeedSTR drivers like Billy Pauch, Jr., Paul Lotier and Tim Buckwalter, Jr. are bringing their Modified for the weekend and can now race both classes on Saturday at FMP.

We did not want to reschedule the American Racer Cup Modified program for this Saturday along with the $2,000 dash as many drivers would lose a big pay day and would then have to choose venues on Saturday. We know that many teams are forced to race for points at Afton and did not want them to lose out on the American Racer Cup opportunity. We would reschedule that for another weekend this fall. We did not want to create an unnecessary conflict on Saturday.

WE ARE STILL RACING ON FRIDAY AS OF NOW BUT WANTED TO POST THIS SCENARIO FOR THE TEAMS FROM THE SOUTH TRYING TO GET THEIR TRAVEL PLANS TOGETHER AND DECIDE WHETHER THEY ARE BRINGING THEIR MODIFIED ALONG WITH THEIR TOBIAS USAC SPEEDSTR.

We are getting so many calls on the weekend and in particular the Friday weather we wanted to post our contingency plan.

The IMCA Modified Empire State Series Event would be moved to the National Quarter Mile Dirt Track Championship Weekend and we would have to see if we could reschedule the GRIT race for another date. The Slingshot date would be lost and we are working on plans for the Factory Stocks.
