HAGERSTOWN MOVING CLOSER TO ITS MARCH OPENING

HAGERSTOWN, MD – Hagerstown Speedway has already made progress as the opening event on the 2014 schedule, the 29th Annual Race-A-Rama car show at the Valley Mall, has begun. More than 20 race cars from different divisions were moved into the mall Sunday evening and will remain until Saturday March 8.

For anyone who has already obtained an earlier posted schedule from the speedway website, an updated one with various revisions is now available.

Racing was to get underway this Sunday, the 9th, however, continuing winter weather and the weeks forecast has necessitated that the date be cancelled as track conditions will not be suitable for racing.

Moving ahead to March 15th, with suitable conditions, the speedway will get underway with the Dirt Capitol LLC Grand Opening Special featuring late models, late model sportsman, K. Lynn Management LLC pure stocks, Mason Dixon Auto Auction hobby stocks, and J.G. Cochran Auctioneer four cylinders. The program gets underway at 5:00 p.m. with warm-ups starting a half hour earlier.

Saturday, the 22nd, the same divisions will compete in their first point races of the season which will continue through until September 6th when champions will be determined. The same 5:00 p.m. starting time will be in effect.

To close out the month, the late model sportsman will highlight the 5:00 p.m. starting program with the Hoosier Daddy Topless double point event paying $1,000 to the winner. Late models, pure stocks, four cylinders and hobby stocks are also on the program.
