BINGHAMTON, NY…The Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour is set to return to the Chemung Speedrome this Saturday night for a huge 100 lap event. All of the cars and stars of the RoC Asphalt Modified Tour will be joined by a full evening of NASCAR Weekly Racing Series competition. Qualifying heat racing gets underway at 6 p.m. The RoC Modified 100 is expected to start no later than 9 p.m.
Two-time Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour Point Champion Chuck Hossfeld leads the tour in to Chemung this Saturday night. Hirschman, from Northampton, PA started off the season with three consecutive victories and is currently in second in the point standings. Hirschman a six-time RoC Tour Champion trails Hossfeld by only 32 markers entering this Saturday night’s event. Like Jankowiak, Leaty recorded his victory in front of his hometown fans at the Spencer Speedway in Williamson, NY. Championship points will be on the line for this event which will add to the importance of a solid finish.
Local drivers will be looking to make their impact this Saturday. Daren Scherer and Bryan Sherwood from Binghamton, NY will be among the drivers competing in the 100 lap event. The father and son team Dean and Tyler Rypkema from Owego, NY will also be in competition.
