Mercer, PA (December 14, 2013): The staff and management of Mercer Raceway Park are busy planning for the 2014 racing season. The first two events are already on the docket: The annual Jack Frost 150 endure, on January 4, 2014; and the 2013 Awards Ceremony and Banquet, on February 1, 2014. Plus, advance ticket sales are now in progress, so you can get the racing fans in your family the perfect stocking stuffers for Christmas!
The new year will get off to a rousing start on Saturday afternoon, January 4, when the speedway hosts the Jack Frost 150. This popular winter classic is open to all races, regardless of their level of experience. Veteran drivers will square off against raw rookies in street cars modified only for safety purposes. And, they will all battle the elements! In addition, the Mini Stocks will make their first start of the racing season in the Snow Flake 25.

Remember that starting positions for the Jack Frost race are assigned on a first come, first served basis, so please make sure to get your entries in as soon as possible.
The action will move indoors just a month later, when the 2013 Awards Ceremony and Banquet will be held. On Saturday, February 1, 2014, the racers, fans, and track personnel will gather together to honor the champions for the 2013 season. Jack Sodeman, Jr. (Luxaire Heating & Cooling/Ralph Butch, Inc./New Wilmington Motors Sprint Cars), Frankie Guidace (Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modifieds), Michael Bauer (Bonnell's Collision Center Outlaw Sprint Warriors), Rusty Moore (Precise Racing Products Stock Cars), Shane Pfeuffer (Big Daddy's Speed Center/Rock Concrete Modified Lites), and Jamey Lee (Eperthener's Auto Wrecking/Ray's Racing Collectibles Mini Stocks) will be seated at the head table. In addition, other racers will be recognized for their accomplishments.
The evening's fun will begin with a Happy Hour, from 5:30 to 6:30. The sumptuous buffet dinner will begin at 6:30. The awards ceremony will follow. Then, there will be music for your dancing and listening pleasure.
Once again, the banquet will be held at the Normandy Banquet Center, 5550 E. State Street (Route 62), in Hermitage, PA.
Tickets must be purchased in advance, as there will be no sales at the door. For a mere $30, guests will enjoy dinner, desert, beer, pop, and entertainment. A cash bar will be available serving other adult beverages.

Track Manager Frank Benic is hard at work putting together an exciting and diverse schedule for the coming year! Traditional events will dot the schedule, like the Western PA Sprint Championship and the Little Guy Nationals, but there will be some new programs as well. The All Stars Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars, the BRP/Hoosier Tire Modified Tour, the B.O.S.S. Sprints, the Patriot Sprints, and other fun-filled events will be held. A tentative schedule will be presented at the banquet.
