Hamlin, PA - Hamlin Speedway Honors Champions And Place Winners At Annual Awards Party To Celebrate Tenth Successful Season

The 2015 Hamlin Speedway racing season officially came to a close on Saturday evening as a packed house of more than 250 people gathered together to celebrate the racing season and to honor all of the 2015 seasonal speedway champions and the place winners in a special evening of friendship and camaraderie. The S&S Speedway complex, located in Snydersville, provided the backdrop for a gracious evening in which the Smith Family completed their tenth successful season of promoting the Hamlin facility they took over the reigns of in 2006. The change in venue from the past few seasons to the S&S Complex allowed the young racers an opportunity to go head to head with their rivals on the tricky D-shaped speedway and enjoy some great fun as well as take part in the awards ceremony.
The popular multi-division speedway, located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, enjoyed a twenty event season in 2015 season with great results as the driving stars at the speedway rose to the occasion to shine brightly for the great racing fans who came out to witness the thrill a second excitement....Hamlin Style! The fabulous seven division weekly show proved to be over the top in racing excitement as more and more driving stars etched their names into the Hamlin Speedway record books. The thrill and excitement to compete at Hamlin brought many new faces and talented drivers to the forefront at the speedway including many drivers who transitioned from one division to another for the 2015 season. Additional records for attendance and entry totals made the season spectacular and with the Smith Family making a commitment to make their eleventh season in 2016 an even greater experience.
After a three hour afternoon period of allowing the drivers to trade paint and laughs on the S&S Speedway racetrack, a sumptuous buffet meal was enjoyed by everyone. Banquet emcee and Speedway Announcer Steve Pados took to the stage to announce the award festivities. First and foremost, the success of any speedway promotion is determined by a loyal and hard working track staff and Pados was on-point to recognize the great work staff at Hamlin for their total work ethic and dedication to the speedway. Promoters Randy and Denise Smith, Allesson Rode, Olivia Mease, Stephanie Kurtz, Ninette Kurtz, Ron and Lori Brown, Russ Furry, Sara Silfee and the Concession Staff of Michelle Thoman, Trina Bechtold, , Dale Kober, Billy Shepps, Cody Yedinack, Dave Bechtold, Leanne Hearn, Michaela Hearn, Wesley Hearn, Shane Pontosky, Marc Daniels, Jill Brink, Linda Macomber, Tim Krysiuk, Barry Boyd and Steve Pados and the ERT Staff headed up by Tom Rode, Kyle Rode, Patrick Norman, Gene Berry, Linda Goodfellow, Shawn Eckolfe, Marc Feldman, Jerry Grafal, Andrew Frailey, Ryan Mathiesen, Gary Van Horn, Gary Dennis and Will Vitulli were recognized and thanked for helping make the Hamlin Speedway the most diversified racing facility in the country today. Each division was introduced by Pados with each individual recognized for his performance and awards for the champions and place winners included Trophies, Gift Certificates and Cash.
The "Stars of Tomorrow" from the talented Junior Slingshot division were honored first with Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania talent "The Little Tornado" Tyler Peet claiming his second consecutive track title at Hamlin. Place winners included Jared Silfee, newly crowned 2015 National Junior Slingshot Champion Justin Mills, Taylor Mills, Anthony Recchio, Alex Yankowski, Shelby McLaughlin, Kyle Braun and Nathen Marold. 39 Junior Slingshot drivers were in competition during the season that produced five different feature event winners.
The next division honored was the Rookie Wingless 600 Sprints and claiming the title in 2015 was Goshen, New York sensation "The Quack Attack" Ryan Quackenbush, who transitioned from the All Star Slingshot division for 2015. Award winners for the fast growing division included AJ Hobbs, Kyle Exley, Jerry Rutledge, Carmen Leggio Jr, Chris Kurtz, and Scott Rupp. A total of 49 drivers made up the 600 Sprint roster with nine different feature winners in 2015.
"The Oxford Express" Dale Kober earned himself another Super Slinger track championship by 91 points in a fierce battle with "The Ambassador" Wes Hearn. The highly competitive Super Slingshot division was filled with jam-packed action throughout as 43 drivers and six different feature winners provided for a great season in the hotly contested division. Janell and Aaron Geary and Jim Conroy were additional place winners honored for their efforts.
The sensational "Icon" Pat Bealer captured his third consecutive 270 Sprint title as the Walnutport, Pennsylvania resident put together a seven win season on his way to the Hamlin title. Twenty nine drivers were in competition with six different feature winners during the season. Additional place winners included the runner-up from Connecticut, "Smoke Jr" Sydney Prince, "Duece" Glenn Macomber, "The Misfit" Tyler Galatro, "The Fire Girl" Mallory Prince, Paul Richards Sr and Jr, Kyle Ferrucci and Jenna Schostkewitz.
A new champion was crowned for the Wingless 600 Sprint division as Scranton, Pennsylvania's "The Electric Man" Colin White used consistency throughout the season to lay claim to the title without scoring a victory. The super competitive Wingless 600 Sprint season saw 77 drivers take up the challenge to test the Hamlin clay and seven different winners made their way to the Hamlin Victory Circle. Additional place winners included "The G-Man" Grady Johnston, "Bad" Chad Sandt, "The A-Team" Brandon Azzalina, "The Nickel Man"Joel Smith, Joseph Smith, Sam Kravitsky and Nick Corazzi.
"The Ambassador" Wes Hearn captured the All Star Slingshot championship at Hamlin with some great drives as he held off Dale Kober to lay claim to the title. Hearn captured four wins on his way to the driving title. The spectacular racing division saw 84 drivers test their skills at the speedway with ten drivers finding sweet success in victory lane. Additional place winners included Dale Kober, "Kid Wicked" Tyler Pirone, "The Otisville Outlaw" Corey Cormier, "The Big D" Daniel Morgiewicz, "Magic Shoes" Mike McLaughlin, "The Mack Attack" Mack Brink, Austin Silfee, "The Closer" Mike Fogler, Alan Selemba, Damon Paul and "The Beast" Chloe Andreas.
The Hampton RV and Trailer sponsored Stage One Modifieds completed their fourth season at the speedway and produced some memorable feature events throughout the season. Headed up by Northeast Modified legend "Rapid" Richie Smith, the sharp looking and quick throttled race cars were loaded with driving talent and the racers put it all on the speedway clay when in competition. 2015 Champion Joel Smith repeated as champion of the division, his third title in four years, as he utilized a ten win season to earn the Stage One Modified title. Additional place winners included "The Dare Devil" Collin DuBois, "The Jersey Girl" Erin Paulison and "The Machinist" Mike Marold Jr.
