Infinity Racing Team Helping to Raise Funds for “Marines Helping Marines”

(EAST STROUDSBURG, PA. 4-5-09) Once a year New York City’s world famous Times Square hosts a drive thru by the top stars of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series drivers which is part of their annual early December banquet week festivities.

It appears that the Big Apple isn’t reserved for the for the elite of the sport as 17-year old northeast Pennsylvania asphalt Late Model driver Kristian Kalch will be in Times Square with his 650hp Ford Fusion racecar.

Kalch will have his mount parked at Military Island on Friday, April 17 from 9:00am – 5:00pm. The basis for his big city trip from his East Stroudsburg home is to help raise money for the United States Marine Corps “Marines Helping Marines” Foundation, which, over the past three years he and his Infinity Racing Team have been diligently working to raise awareness and funds for.

Marines Helping Marines is a non-profit organization providing support for injured Marine Corps personnel. Founded in 2005, the organization has grown to now include four participating hospitals that have raised and contributed over $250,000 in needed supplies, goods and services.

Kalch is a Honors student at Pocono Mountain East High School and has been racing since age nine, starting in quarter midgets. He currently races weekly at Lehighton’s Mahoning Valley Speedway were he first brought the Marines Helping Marines familiarity to that speedway last season with a special fundraiser night that was an unqualified success. He also had similar event at the Lehigh Valley Quarter Midget Club at Pocono Raceway and through the kind generosity of everyone’s donations, more than $7000 was raised.

The previous year the Infinity Racing Team raised over $3500 for the Marines for the Toys For Tots program.

On July 4 of this year at Mahoning Valley Speedway, the Marines Helping Marines Night will once again take place.
