Slingshots Hope to Tame the Avenger

On Saturday October 3rd at 3 PM ,the Slingshot by Tobias racers will venture to the New Jersey Motorsports Park for the first ever road course race in the 10 year history of the Slingshots.

Two twenty minute timed practice sessions beginning at 3 PM will determine the qualifying lineups, with the top 6 in these sessions being inverted for the heat lineups. The "Taming the Avenger 20" will follow shortly after qualifying with all cars entered being locked into a history first for the Slingshots as this could be one of the most entertaining 9.6 miles of Slingshot action ever run.

The 8 lap heats should prove very challenging as only the Langhorne Motorsports Team of Gary and Kyle Hieber did the track testing in July.

The first official entry was Matt "the Real" Dealaman, a top campaigner at Borgers Speedway in his # 07 Slingshot.Jumping onboard right behind Matt are 2 tough competitors from the Oakland Valley Dirt Oval,as Fred Cannock and John Mann will be taking their talents to the .48 left turn, right turn layout.

Horsham,PA's "Dyno "Dave McCullough was a spectator for the testing and was so engrossed in the concept and the need for driver ability to be a deciding force in succeeding that he has officially entered the 7X for the "Taming the Avenger 20".

Among some of the other interested parties are the S&S Speedways Team cars,Kevin VanValkenburg,Simon Whitnell,Dillon Emmons,Paul Lotier,Jr., Greg Zellman.

The race is open to all race fans that would like to see something different in local small car racing.

The event will be presented rain or shine and all drivers, crews, family and friends that would like to see a Slingshot first are asked to use Gate B and follow the road to the Registration Gate. There will be a special window for all Slingshot sign-ins.

Action starts for the Slingshots at 3,but the Open Wheel Vintage Racer will also be there and with the gates opening at 9 AM,you can watch the vintage cars, rent a few laps around the kart track or just take in the atmosphere of it all.

If you think watching this race will be a blast ,imagine being a driver.Spots still open up until the green flag flies for the 20 minute timed practice.
