Borgers Roy Smith Memorial Could Decide Slingshot Champion

When the Roy Smith Memorial for the Slingshots line up at Borgers on Saturday night October 16th,the finish could possibly determine who the 2010 Slingshot by Tobias National Champion will be.
The current scenario has Kunkletown,PA's Shannon Smith and Bangor,PA's Cody Kline in a virtual tie atop the highly coveted point standings.
The first tie-breaker is number of National wins, followed by the best point average in these races.Currently Shannon has a win at Reading to claim the tiebreaker if needed.
The finish of this race plays an important part of the overall Elite 11 standings in national points. If either of them win,it will put them alone atop of the standings.
If either finishes 2nd,it will remain tied with the November National at Dirt Devils in Florida a possible tie breaker depending on their car count.
Mike Glass resides in 3rd spot right now,but a challenge from Saturday nights Paradise Speedway National winner Kyle Hieber could alter the top 11 by virtue of his only having 3 of the required 4 National races run and will accrue any points he earns after the checkered falls at Borgers.
Borgers Speedway has decided quite a few recent National Elite finishes and this one will be no exception.
The 2010 Slingshot by Tobias Champion will receive $1200 at the January 7th Awards banquet at the American Antique Car Association Museum in Hershey,PA.
The 11th place driver in National Points will see a $300 payout heading his way.The Junior drivers will not be forgotten as the Great 8 also will be getting a share of the over $14,000 point fund that Speedway Entertainment will be handing out.Junior Champion Tyler Dippel will be getting $400 as the Junior National Champion.
