                                                   Slingshots Head to Pocono

The Slingshot by Tobias racers have been to many racing venues that are known nationwide, but the July 3rd event will see them take that one step farther as the Long Pond Twin 15's will be held on the 3/4 mile infield road course located at Pocono International Raceway in Long Pond,PA.

PIR which hosts NASCAR and ARCA events on the 2 1/2 mile tri-oval will see the Briggs & Stratton racers work their way around a course of left and rights in twin 15 lap main events.

The Long Pond Twin 15's will be a part of the day's activities sanctioned by the Italian Car Extravaganza and will see track time beginning at 3 PM with the Slingshot gates opening at 1 PM.

Rich Tobias, president of Speedway Entertainment, was impressed with the testing and will make a few course alterations."The straightaway portions of the course had speeds in excess of 70 miles per hour heading into two sharp lefts,so we will be making some changes to slow things down and make it safer and more competitive, with braking strategies being a major plus in passing",stated Tobias.

The 20 pit stalls along the speedway are being reserved as race teams confirm their entry into this event. The additional entries will be parked directly across the access road and will be just a few feet away.

2010 New Jersey Motorsports Park road course winner Randy Smith was the first confirmed entry as the full stable of S&S Speedway cars will be in the field.First time winner,Joe Bodenschatz will have his red # 24 on the grid in hopes of getting another win to add to his Kutztown Fair Speedway triumph.

The interest for the Long Pond Twin 15's is running high with drivers of all ages wanting to give the road course a try and say they raced at Pocono Raceway. The County Roofers 7X of "Dyno" Dave McCullough is among the entries as are 2011 Lindas Speedway Point Champion Justin Thompson, former Borgers Speedway co-promoter Steve Heckman,Scott Miller, former Slingshot regional champion Matt Dealaman,Henry Anderson,Ray Nemeth,Jr.,Rich VanOrden,Andrew Dinin,Carl Bittenbender and more.

Speedway Entertainment will also be offering the owners, drivers, crews, families and fans a chance to have a bite to eat and some refreshment as the grill will be ablaze with hot dogs and hamburgers for all in attendance.

Admission into the grounds will $10.00,pit passes will be $15.00 and car entry will be $25.00.The first 25 car entries will receive a free air filter, compliments of K&N Filters.
